High-performance server systems

FOLIOserver hosting service is exclusively provided through high performance server systems Dell Poweredge 1750 and 2650, with dual Pentium 4 Xeon configuration, 2GB ECC memory, redundant sources for electricity, SCSI disks and RAID mirror system.

All these features provide a high level of redundancy, allowing the server systems to continue working if one of the redundant parts should fail (eg. a hard disk). The part could be replaced without having to stop the system.

All services are provided by separated groups of servers, so we have groups of web servers, email servers and database servers. We have a minimum stock of 2 machines ready to be activated in the event of a serious breakdown in any of our servers.

We have the same features in all the different datacenters where our servers are located: Spain, Great Britain, USA and Australia. Therefore, each customer gets the service from the datacenter closer to their location.

Cable Network

From Madrid (Spain), we connect via IP to several renowned operators on Gigabit links, connected to the Datacenter thanks to fiber optic data links STM-4 - 622 Mbps. Bandwidth in peak times is below 50% of total capacity. Besides, our four main routers Juniper M7i/M10 (two of them in Madrid and the other two in Alicante), plus the secondary Cisco 7507, provide the best connectivity.

Aggregation is made through Cisco 3750 switches with multiple layer 2 Cisco 2950 switches at Gigabit speed.

Our traffic is also routed through Espanix, the principal neutral Internet exchange in Spain. And we use the best cable networks for the datacenters in UK, USA & AUS: Savvis, Cable & Wireless and Verio.

All these features give the FOLIOserver network first class connectivity, both national and international, at maximum speed with minimal ping.
